Eptinezumab Intravenous Infusion for Adults

Who can administer

May be administered by registered competent doctor or nurse/midwife

Important information

• Must be initiated and supervised by consultant neurologist
• In order to maintain traceability, the name and batch number of the administered product should be clearly recorded

Infusion fluids

Sodium chloride 0.9%

Methods of intravenous administration

Intermittent intravenous infusion ONLY (administer using an electronically controlled infusion device)

• Add required dose to 100mL Sodium chloride 0.9%
• Administer over 30 minutes

Dose in adults

Prophylaxis of migraine in adults who have at least 4 migraine days per month

• Recommended dose is 100mg every 12 weeks
• Some patients may benefit from a dose of 300mg every 12 weeks
• The need for dose escalation should be assessed within 12 weeks after initiation

Monitoring

• The patient should be monitored during and after the infusion in accordance with normal clinical practice
• Serious hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylactic reactions, have been reported and may develop within minutes of the infusion.

Further information

• Overall benefit and continuation of treatment should be assessed 6 months after initiation of the treatment
• Contains sorbitol (E420). Patients with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) must not be given this medicinal product unless strictly necessary.
